Our Mission
What do we want to achieve ?
At the heart of our mission lies a passionate commitment to reducing food waste and enhancing lives through the provision of healthy food. We firmly believe that access to nutritious food is a fundamental right, and we aspire to make this vision a reality. Our mission encompasses several key objectives that drive our daily efforts:
Food Waste Reduction
Our primary goal is to significantly contribute to the reduction of food waste. We recognize the global issue of food wastage, and we are determined to play our part by implementing innovative post-harvest storage solutions and efficient mini-processing techniques. By doing so, we aim to minimize the loss of fresh produce during the supply chain, ensuring that more food reaches the plates of those who need it.
Promotion of Sustainability
Sustainability is at the core of our mission. We are committed to sustainable practices throughout the entire food supply chain. From our eco-friendly post-harvest storage facilities to our focus on B2B trade in GI (Geographical Indication) and organic foods, every step we take is aimed at fostering a more sustainable food ecosystem. Our dedication to sustainability extends to our sourcing practices, where we prioritize local, organic, and eco-conscious products.
Global Reach
We understand the importance of global food trade in promoting food security and supporting local economies. Our mission includes a strong emphasis on international trade, particularly in exporting premium GI and organic food and vegetables. By connecting producers from one of the world’s most renowned food baskets, India, to global markets, we aim to enrich the lives of both farmers and consumers around the world.
Healthy Food Access
We are committed to improving the overall well-being of individuals by providing access to healthy and nutritious food. By focusing on post-harvest processes that preserve the nutritional value of food, we ensure that the end product is not only delicious but also packed with essential nutrients.
Community Empowerment
Our mission is not just about business; it’s about creating a positive impact on the communities we serve. We strive to empower local farmers and food producers by providing them with fair opportunities and fair prices for their products. In doing so, we contribute to the economic development of the regions where we operate.
Our Proposition
At the heart of our mission is our unwavering commitment to delivering on our promises. Our proposition is built upon two key pillars that exemplify our dedication to reducing food waste, ensuring food security, and enhancing your experience with healthy food:
Warehouse and Cold Storage Expertise
We take pride in our state-of-the-art warehouse and cold storage facilities. These are the backbone of our operation, ensuring that food products remain fresh, nutritious, and safe throughout their journey from farm to table. Social Impact
Supporting local communities
At Indo European Food Park (IEFP) and its holding company in the Netherlands, we are deeply committed to making a meaningful social impact in the communities where we operate. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on key areas that drive positive change. Specifically, we contribute to the following SDGs:
SDG 2: Zero Hunger
“No one should go to bed hungry.”
We firmly believe in the importance of addressing hunger and food security on a global scale. In line with SDG 2, IEFP is dedicated to creating sustainable solutions that ensure access to nutritious and affordable food for local communities. Through our agricultural initiatives and food processing projects, we work tirelessly to reduce food insecurity, empower local farmers, and promote sustainable farming practices.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
“Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.”
Economic growth and job creation are fundamental to improving the quality of life for communities. At IEFP, we are committed to fostering economic growth by investing in local businesses, creating job opportunities, and providing training and skill development programs. By supporting local entrepreneurship and employment, we aim to uplift communities and contribute to the realization of SDG 8.
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
“Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.”
We understand that achieving the SDGs requires collaborative efforts. IEFP actively seeks partnerships with local organizations, NGOs, government bodies, and other stakeholders to amplify our impact. Through strategic collaborations and partnerships, we aim to leverage resources, share knowledge, and work collectively towards achieving sustainable development goals in the regions we operate.
Our commitment to these SDGs underscores our dedication to creating lasting, positive change in local communities. We believe that by aligning our CSR efforts with the SDGs, we can make a significant contribution to building a better and more sustainable future for all. Together, we are not only supporting local communities but also advancing global progress towards a more inclusive and prosperous world.
“Empowering Communities Through Food Security and Skill Development”
The key focus areas for CSI are food security and skill development on various levels. Our social impact budget is directed at sustainable initiatives in the group’s host communities in an effort to continue to add value by improving the socio-economic conditions in these communities. In our direct environment, we continue to focus on improving education through various infrastructure enhancement initiatives at schools, provision of transportation for learners, and life skills training for youth. We remain committed to spending at least 2% of our net profit after tax on CSI initiatives in our host communities.
The United Nations has committed to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It was the first time the focus also included the importance of looking beyond hunger towards
the goals of ensuring access to safe, nutritious and sufficient food for all people all year round, and of eradicating all forms of malnutrition (SDG 2 Targets 2.1 and 2.2). In practice food insecurity & loss of quality leads to an enormous economic & healthcare burden associated with medical expenses and the loss of production from workers being unable to work.
Both farmers and (farming) food consumers might have to take care of their sick families, due to the effects of food poisoning or less nutritious food, which can include illness and even premature death. This can also occur any time that food safety practices are not followed.
With our modest contribution we aim at facilitating our local neighbouring community to prevent food loss & malnutrition effects! This can be achieved by enabling the distribution of good quality input material and enabling quality preservation of fruits and vegetables needed to improve their health system. For this we are partnering with prominent European developers of input material for the farmer’s communities. We will also frequently organize special sessions for the local community to spread the required knowledge, methods & techniques which are suitable for the local ecosystem.
